Thanks, Facebook, for Holiday Emoticons!

Good Monday (10.31.16) morning!  Thanks, Facebook, for holiday emoticons.  Everyone enjoys the informational, pictorial, tiny pictures that express what we feel and what we want to do!

I created Duggie (pronounced Do-gee) sometime this spring or summer, but actually I created his face years before, and he is in my tubes in my graphics program.  When I added the body, it was because he was a stick character with an awesome facial expression and simple to pose and repose as I wished.

As you know, I do a FB page for my family group.  I am scrapping all the pictures, on my computer and my physical pictures, that belong to all those in my family.  It takes a great deal of my early morning (starting around 1:30 am) and goes to just about noon every day.  By then, I am tired, and have already been working ten and a half hours.  Some days, it’s longer.

Like everyone, I’m captivated by Snapchat as well as emoticons, so Facebook did something I love with creating special Halloween emoticons!

Well, Duggie wanted to create his own emoticons for his own use, and I’m glad he did.  You can see them in the creation above.

Duggie’s feeling emoticons are: HIGH 5 instead of just LIKE.  His face picture with a heart behind for LOVE, OMG (his hands covering his eyes to push that feeling), Kiss this (remembering the song from several years ago) with him bent over and an arrow point to the kiss location, CRY with tears streaming down his face for sad, and BS for a mad, mad Duggie.

Duggie’s LIKE is OK! Nonchalant-style, his COMMENT is “Let’s Talk!”, TEXT ME with a small text box and talk balloons inside, RIP (NOT on line) is an action for not responding at all (no FB symbol for this) and is just to add humor, and that’s a trash basket which a lot of older people recognize for junk mail and always called the basket File 13, and IT IS FILED!  I thought of making a SHARE icon, with Duggie flying a folded paper airplane with the words SHARED IN THE SKY (or cloud or something).

Basically just having a good time playing … and sharing that with you.

By the way:  I want to apologize for NO post on last Friday.  I went to my daughters at about 1 pm, visited a bit, had another friend show up there so visited some more, and then came home.  My granddaughter said two things I want to remember:

While we were waiting on our visitor to arrive, E wanted to play the game we played last time I came  over.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have my money jars as they are H-E-A-V-Y.  So she did like the game!!!

Second, as I was leaving, dear 6-year old E said, “I wish you lived here with us, Grandma!”  How sweet!

My daughter said she continued to talk about that for hours after I left.  Then texted me that she continued to talk several more days about it.  She sent me a webpage for Granny Pods that are small “tiny homes” you put in your backyard, and said, “Hey.  We need this!”  Ha!  Ha!  She’s right!!!

As I left, I realized I needed to get some gasoline for the car, but my stomach was queasy and I had a headache, so I went straight home.  A fever started, I got the chills and covered myself with lots of blankets in bed, and had sciatica in both cheeks and both legs and it was flaming!  I couldn’t eat or even consider eating.  I couldn’t concentrate on TV and kept falling asleep because even my eyes hurt.  This went on for 2 days, and then the “runs” joined in.  This was an embarrassing addition.

By Saturday, I made myself get up and walk around as the fever and chills were gone, but still had the headache, nausea, diarrhea, and just plain “pooped” (ahem).  I thought it would also help my legs hurt less.  I also forced a little food inside me.

I also had some pain pills from earlier this year, and I took 2 or 3 of those over the first two days.  The pain in my legs and cheeks were awful!

By Sunday, I was back to being normal.

So, I couldn’t do much while I was OUT … so I had to let the post go for that day.  Please forgive me.

Snapchat Craze

Good Wednesday (10.26.16) morning!  I’m sure most of you know the Snapchat Craze by now.  And it’s causing some spin-offs, too.

Above:  I created this cartoony-face this morning.  I've been playing with family photos since July of this year.  Another one I did yesterday is below.

As I've said, I started playing back in July with several pictures.  Because I love creating characters, I wanted some old lady pictures.  I had a picture of my sister and me, and wanted to send her something funny.  The picture itself wasn't very good, but it was fun!

This one is for creating characters.

I worked on another one this morning:  She reminds me of either Blanche from The Golden Girls or Betty Davis.

I also did this one this morning from one of the above.

It's funny.  As I said at the beginning, people are jumping on the Snapchat bandwagon.  I was going through my emails and found this eHow makeup site.  Go check it out.

http://www.ehow.com/how_12343425_4-snapchat-filter-makeup-tutorials-need-watch.html?utm_source=ehow&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ehow_general_1022&utm_content=general

Then I did a search and found this.  If you use Snapchat, and would like to know WHO TO FOLLOW; go here.  They will give you the top 10 plus more!

Onto my own FREE offerings today.  Just right click and save to your own computer.  Put a copy of my card in the folders you build, and you’ll always know where you got the graphics.  And, of course, it’s there for you to SHARE! SHARE! SHARE!

Just right click and save to your computer.  All graphics are made by me!

Today’s graphics are: two quick frames, 1 birthday card, another quick frame, a National Cat Day card, and a National Say Hey Day card,  A total of 6 graphics.

Okay!  That’s it for today’s graphics.  Use them with some pre-made cards and envelopes, and your cards will just take a minute to get together.

Remember to grab my card!

I’d appreciate any and all comments.  Please take a moment to leave one below.  And thanks!

FREE Fun for Halloween in Columbus!

Good Monday (10.24.16) morning!  Try painting a pumpkin for Halloween.  There's still time to do this delightful event, if you live in Columbus, OH!

Want to plan a fun, yet FREE family activity?  These are some great ones coming up at the end of this week, so still time to get in on the fun!  Good for all the family; why not include grandparents, if they live in town.  Or grandparents; why NOT suggest these to your family and then all of you go!

Kids from 3-6 years and up, can do just that at the Youth Services Activity Center.  The presenter is Lisa Wise, and if you like to do to that with your kids, call her at 614-822-7277 x5006.  It’s only while supplies last; and the date is 10/28/16 from 11 am to 11:30 am.

I guess it’s at the Westerville Public Library, 126 South State Street, Westerville, OH 43081.

Oh!  On November, 2nd, they have a FREE Let’s Get Crafty.  It’s at 4:15 pm, library again.

Lots going on from Line Dancing and Kid’s Night on 10-24 to Trick or “Suites” on Oct. 27th (this one is fantastic if you have a child with autism!) to Adult Game Night at the Delaware Country District Library / Powell Branch on Nov. 2nd

NOT FREE, but sounds really interesting and fun:
On October 27, there’s a Boos and Beers: Haunted History of Columbus Walking Tour (with Beer) at 7 pm. The cost if $20; Departs near the North Market, 59 Spruce St., Columbus, OH 43215.  (It also falls on the calendar throughout the month, so go look at the dates.)

The calendar goes through Nov. 12 with a button that says “Show More Events”.

Do a search in other areas for “free events in (your city), (your state)”.  (I did a search for “free events for Halloween in Columbus, OH.)

Onto my own FREE offerings today.  Just right click and save to your own computer.  Put a copy of my card in the folders you build, and you’ll always know where you got the graphics.  And, of course, it’s there for you to SHARE! SHARE! SHARE!

Today’s graphics are:  four blank quick frames with my sarcastic fractal crabs and one with a remark in the frame for using as a card.

Another features a character named Azure with a cute quote.  This one would be great for a card, too.

Another has room for a picture with a quote along with an example featuring me.  Would be great for a pick-me-up booster for someone you love.

In total, there are 8 items for today.

Above:  The blank of this one was featured at the lead in; at the top.

Okay!  That’s it for today’s graphics.  Use them with some pre-made cards and envelopes, and your cards will just take a minute to get together.

No-Cost Ideas for Halloween

Good Friday (10.21.16) morning!  This is your last week to be thinking of costumes. Today's freebies will help you get no-cost ideas for Halloween.

I was skimming my way through the 10.10.16 edition of Woman’s World when I found GET NO-COST HALLOWEEN HELP (page 24).

I started checking out the Halloween help websites right away.  I was hooked!

The link did not work on the first one, so I shortened it:  Sewing Support dot com.  This sites has lots of FREE tutorials and patterns, but the one I liked actually went to the site:  TheStitchingScientist.com.  (Remora).  She was the maker of the Gypsy Doll I so admired.

My daughter sews, and I kind of snagged the website for her, but I like to do graphics, so I did one based on her gypsy pillow design.  It is just too adorable!

I also loved, “How to make a Sock Snowman”, “Simple Table Runner” (so colorful), “Easy Fat Quarter Quilt Top with Free Patterns”, “Doll Face Circle Pouch with Free Pattern”, and the “Pleated Peekaboo Skirt” OH MY!  Love it!

So darling is the Baby Dress, 6 to 9 months with free pattern.

All I can say is you have to check out this site, if you sew.  Wonderful for inspiration!
Again.  THAT SITE IS:  TheStitchingScientist.com/tutorials.

As we women perform our hobbies, we speak volumes to our kids and grandkids.  If we involve them in the process, they eventually copy us or find their own way in their own art endeavors.  Be someone who inspires your children and grandchildren!

Onto my own offerings today.  Just right click and save to your own computer.  Put a copy of my card in the folders you build, and you’ll always know where you got the graphics.  And, of course, it’s there for you to SHARE! SHARE! SHARE!

The graphics:  Halloween Treats (good for a card); Announcement card blank and an example features Coolest-Homemade-Costumes.com (you have to see the baby coffin stroller); the blank for this website, and the blank flower to put your message on (it was featured first today at the top).  The last three items are quick frames.  Enjoy!

I did a search for Columbus OH + events and came up with https://www.experiencecolumbus.com/events/festivals-annual-events/.

I used to live near the short north, so I see that tonight, Oct 21, and tomorrow, the 22nd, they have an event called HighBall.  They’re shutting High Street down for these two nights, much like my own neighborhood did with two streets for our annual potluck.  These things are always so much fun!

And they’re inviting you to bring your best costumes to the scene!  How exciting!

We have an Escape Room in Columbus at 1415 E. Dublin-Granville Road, called Buckeye Escape Room.  614-781-1995, website:  http://www.buckeyeescaperoom.com/

Friday, today; Oct. 20, 2016, they have an all-day affair starting at 12:00 a.m.  Yikes!

It’s called the Crazy Cat Lady Escape Room.  Sounds fascinating!

When did this extraordinary thing happen?? This sounds like something I’d really enjoy.  It’s only for one and one-half hours to do the game.  $27 per person (week days) and 29 per person (weekends).

Purchase tickets online for you or a group.  There are 12 total people in a game room, so if you have four in your group, you will be placed with 8 others, if they are available.  Arrive 15 minutes early.  You all work together to figure out clues given to you to escape from the game room.

I dare say I could do this as it doesn’t appear to be “sport” inclined, only brain-powered!  It sounds like an amazing time.

By looking at their events calendar, I can see they have several games that day.  Crazy Cat Lady Escape Room, Crime Scene Investigator, and Lockdown Haunted Prison Escape Room.  These repeat all through the month and into November.  Wow!  This would make a wonderful Christmas Event Gift.

If you’re 15, you can go, too, and in a private group that you pay for all 12 people, younger children may go, also.  Looks like that would be approximately $360.00.

Now onto the rest of the graphics:

How Many More Sleeps till Halloween?

Good Wednesday (10.19.16) morning!  “How many more sleeps till Halloween?” my six-year-old granddaughter asks her mom.

“Twelve” her mom might respond, if they go out on the 31st.

I don’t know what night her neighborhood is going out yet.

But this a BIG question on every subject for this particular six-year-old child.

My daughter says that sometimes she feels like’s going crazy because it’s a daily question about anything happening or coming up.

Indeed, Halloween is a big time of year.  For children, and for many adults.

I remember I still went out when I was high school.  I finally stopped when I moved out of my family home and about four or five states away.

I’m sure you’re all dealing with the excitement from your own children.

So for today, I’ve continued to make some quick frames to put your children’s pictures in and also two cards.

I hope you enjoy them!

And now; on to the graphics!
