Making My Own Face Swaps

Good Monday (12.12.16) morning.  I’m really into making my own face swaps.  You can see the first one below.  I like to end of up making them really cartoon y, if possible.

Today, I tried another one using the face of my niece.

And this how it turned out.

No doubt I will continue to make more.

The popular program that features this is, of course, Snapchat.  I heard that they are going to be called just SNAP in the future.  Maybe it already is.

I’ve done some of these that are similar using my oldest son, and my youngest granddaughter.  I also did one of my daughter yesterday.

It’s just a little creative fun, and I hope you enjoy me sharing it with you.

Rest in Peace, John Glenn

Good Friday (12.9.16) morning.  On Thursday, 12.8.16, John Herschel Glenn, 95, died at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, OH.  “Rest in Peace, John Glenn”.

My condolences to his family.

Family life of John Glenn.  

He married his childhood sweetheart, Anna Margaret Castor, in 1943, and were married 70 years.  They had two children:  Carolyn and John David.

He was a Marine, Astronaut, and a U.S. Senator.

Some of his accomplishments:

First American to orbit the earth (2.20.62, took 4 hours and 55 minutes).  Famous phrase: “Zero G, and I feel fine.”

Set the transcontinental speed record as a test pilot.

Oldest person in space (second flight:  shuttle Discover, 1988).

Longest running Senator in Ohio’s history.  On his third attempt in 1974, he won. When he announced his upcoming retirement in 1997, he said, “There is still no cure for the common birthday.”

Last survivor of the original Mercury 7 astronauts.

Rest in peace, John Glenn.  I’m sure you left a multitude of memories for your family to remember!

Now, let’s take some time to do the same.

Scrapped Pictures into Miniature Booklets

Good Monday (12.5.16) morning.  Two weeks ago, I turned some scrapped pictures into miniature booklets for my two granddaughters.  This week, I’m trying something different.

This little booklet is for oldest granddaughter.  She is 16.  Originally, this was an art card.  The pencil drawings are the front and back cover.  On the inside cover and back cover are mixed media art I had inside the card.

Originally, the scrapped picture booklet I sent out two weeks ago, were just a little something I did after seeing a video on YouTube.  I didn’t take pictures.  Since I don’t like to post my girls online, I wouldn’t have posted them anyway.

But my daughter remarked just last night that her youngest who is 6, LOVED the little booklet and kept looking through it. 

Her booklet this week is just blank pages with some stickers on the front cover.  She can write in it or draw.  Here is the picture below.  (These are “purchased” stickers.)

I’m fairly sure she will enjoy it.  I used index cards for the cover and the pages.  It is a little primitive, but HECK!  I know she will love it.

In this one, you can see my hand holding it.  The other booklet is the same size, so they really are miniatures.

It’s the Monday that my little letters and matching envelopes go out.  Here's what it looks like this week.

As you can see, I put a little news about grandma in every letter.  (The six-year old calls me Grandma.  The sixteen-year old calls me Mamaw.  I called my own grandma "mamaw".)

And since Christmas is just around the corner, and I posted my Christmas card to my family group, I'm posting it here for you all, too!

I made the little gypsy girl a few months ago, and she is in another post. I made the little Christmas tree for this card.  The paper is a fractal art design.  I love the colors!

The background is a fractal art design.  One is diagonal and the other is straight.  The last card is an “I Will Always Love You” card for someone special in your life.

Safe in Columbus, Ohio

Good Friday (12.2.16) morning.  Yes!  I am safe in Columbus, Ohio.

As you know, a shooting took place in Columbus, at OSU.  We used to live fairly close to that area, but not anymore.

I heard about it first when I got a Facebook message from my son-in-law, saying, “I am safe!”.

I thought it was some kind of prank at first.  I wrote him back and said, “What is this?”

He responded, “Turn on your TV.”

It was very sad to see what was going on and how the campus was on lock-down.  Our family's thoughts and prayers go out to the families who lost or had students harmed.

All I can say is that they are still investigating.

I really wish our world was a safer place.  I just don’t understand this need for violence.
